Normally, bison and jackrabbits are friendly cohabitants on the plains of Dakota Territory. When it comes to the NDSU Bison and the SDSU Jackrabbits, however, there is a fierce and friendly rivalry. The South Dakota State Society mingled with the North Dakota State Society and watched the annual football showdown for the Dakota Marker.

This year’s Annual Summer BBQ event was the perfect combination of warm sunshine, good company and great food — all on a lazy summer Sunday afternoon. About 25 were in attendance at the Tjeerdsma home in Alexandria – thank you all for coming! We hope to see you again next summer.

The Taco John’s Event was a huge success, despite the gloomy spring weather. We had nearly 100 of the Midwest’s finest in attendance, with a few East Coast folks experiencing potato oles for the first time. Thank you for coming and eating! We hope to see you all next year.
